Workshops for Faculty
The skills your faculty need to teach in a global classroom
The skills your faculty need to teach in a global classroom
Educational globalization is here to stay. The increasing wave of international students, particularly from Asia, is creating a need for new skills among faculty.
Students from Asian cultures can be markedly different from American and European students. The tools and techniques that work so well with Western students are sometimes counterproductive with students from Korea, India or China.
A Global Career facilitates cross-cultural integration and success in an academic environment. Our workshops help faculty prepare for the new global reality by understanding different styles of communication, decision making, relationship orientation, sense of time and hierarchy, for optimal academic experiences, in the classroom and online.
Our workshops provide a broad cultural foundation and can be customized to focus on one or more specific cultures. Often, only a small percentage of faculty have worked in Asia, but a growing number are now working with students from Korea, India and China. Increasingly, universities are providing training programs to help faculty make this critical transition.
